Staff

My local library is staffed with librarians with a master's degree in library science. when I go to the library this librarian is available on demand to help me find materials of Interest. My local library system also has a telephone calling system   I can call the librarian on demand to get help with what I'm looking for

with few exceptions my local neighborhood parks have no staff to help me climbing one of their parks. And if I go to the parks department website there is no contact phone number for anybody the 88 coordinator with the exception of the Ada coordinator.

in my city New York City libraries have been set up to help their patrons on demand. The parks in my city have not been set up to do so.

Staffing is expensive and is not possible to put a staff member to help with programming physically in A lot of the parks in New York City. But what is possible is to offer a telephone calling service were people with degrees and Recreation and recreation therapy can on an on-demand basis help park hours to find activities to do in their local park

these Specialists with a degree in Recreation recreation therapy or recreation therapy can also be the ones who create the parks department version of this website

To start this as a pilot program rather than offer the service for everybody I think a good place to start would be to offer a telephone service for people with special needs staffed by Recreation therapists

Set up in the 1960s, the line is manned by nine librarians and information assistants.
